London, Oxford and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

  • 5 days
  • singles, couples, w/ kids
  • spring, summer, fall, winter

A five-day trip to London, Oxford, and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London. As always with short trips, it is a good idea to arrive as early in the morning as possible and depart on your last day as late as possible. You will have five great days in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And not only there. You'll take a day trip to the renowned Warner Bros. Studios. The exhibit here is absolutely brilliant, and you don't have to be a Harry Potter expert to be blown away by this place. Similarly, you'll simply fall in love with Oxford, the city where one of the world's most famous universities is located. For me, the highlight of this trip was visiting the Parliament. I highly recommend it! The advantage is that you can go on this trip at any time of the year. Weather is not a limiting factor.

4.6 / 5

Try to get an early flight, there is a lot of things to do and see and it would be a shame not to get to do all of them. There are a lot of airports around London, so the first task will be to get to your hotel. Your room may not be available for a check in yet, but just leave your stuff at the front desk and head out for your first tour of the city. The places and sights you know from books and movies await you. London is truly beautiful and has so much to offer. To name two of our favourite places – St. Paul's Cathedral and Twinings Flagship Store. The cathedral is really great, explore the whole thing, from the underground up to the roof. It's really worth it! And the Twinings store? Tea and England are almost synonymous, and this shop is just too nice.

The second day needs to be well planned and both activities pre-booked as well. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and a tour of the Parliament. Both are great and both are suitable for kids. The Parliament tour is maybe just for older kids, though. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is where the whole Harry Potter story comes to life. You'll be amazed to see just how much work it takes to make a good film. If you've been here before try checking out their website, they add new exhibits very often.

On the third day you will have a day trip to Oxford. Here you will find one of the most famous universities in the world and much more. Oxford is a very nice city. There are also lots of good pubs that are very inviting.

The whole of the fourth day is devoted to London again. There are plenty of places to go and things to see. You don't have to follow our suggested itinerary. On the last day, you might spend your morning in the wonderful Natural History Museum. Don't underestimate the time needed for the journey to the airport, save enough of time for it.

Transport to and from the airportHeathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Stansted (STN), Luton (LTN).

Security – London has recently been experiencing a high number of violent crimes. However, there is nothing to worry about in the city centre. Keep an eye out for pickpockets, like in any other European city.

When to come here – you can travel here all year round!

Transport around town – public transport is not cheap, if there are 3-4 of you it is often more convenient and cheaper to take a taxi for shorter distances. Alternatively, you can use Uber. If you travel by public transport, consider buying an Oyster Card you will certainly save money.

What will you see on the way?

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge

Take a tour of the “inside” of the bridge. It’s great! You get to see the tower, the motors that lift the bridge, and walk the glass walkway.

Buy your tickets well in advance online.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter – a fantastic place. Great presentation. You don’t even have to be a super Harry Potter fan and you’ll still be fascinated by this place. You definitely need to buy tickets online well in advance. For transport from London, you can use the special HP bus, but I don’t really recommend it, it’s expensive and it’s a normal bus covered in HP pictures. It is easier and much cheaper to take the train.

Christ Church College

Christ Church College

Several places in Christ Church appeared in the Harry Potter films. This is a great attraction. But the whole area is worth seeing. Plan your visit in advance, there tend to be various restrictions as it is still a functioning university. Buy your tickets online.
