Trulli are remarkable examples of construction without mortar, a prehistoric building technique still used in the area. Trulli are made of roughly worked limestone boulders. Characteristically, they have pyramidal, domed, or conical roofs built of limestone slabs. There are many Trulli in the city and some of them are accessible.
